When installation does not work right away.

The most common causes can be narrowed down without changing your system.

The install button is disabled

Make sure the site is open over HTTPS or localhost and that your desktop browser provides Web Serial.

The ESP32 does not appear in the device list

Use a USB data cable, try another USB port, and close applications that may already have the serial port open.

The connection starts and then fails

Hold the BOOT button when prompted and release it once transfer begins. Disconnect other wiring that could affect the boot mode.

The firmware is installed but nothing appears

This release does not drive the OLED yet. Check the serial output at 115200 baud for boot diagnostics, the I²C scan, and button events.

The browser reports success

That confirms the transfer only. Boot, display, bus, and button operation require the separate hardware acceptance test.

Avoid broad permission workarounds

Do not apply device permissions such as chmod 777. If the port is unavailable, check its owner, group, and competing applications first.
